A gloomy tale about a king whose pride robbed him of love, friends and power. A cruel curse is at the beginning of the story of this fairy tale based on an old Irish legend. Until the king's newly born son raises his sword against his father, there will be no spring in the Hawk Kingdom. Although the king orders the counselor Ordon to kill the child, the nurse saves him and entrusts the child to the care of a bird. He names him Christopher and raises him together with his son Janko. Twenty years later, the king succumbs to Ordon's urging to war with the neighbouring King Ubald. It is in this war that the curse is fulfilled and the tragic fate of the new king, who cannot listen to the right mouth, begins to unfold.

A story about the conditions in Bohemia in the second half of the nineteenth century, when small-town officials, such as Hrdlička, succumbed to the predators of the emerging large financial and industrial bourgeoisie, represented by Jestřáb.

About one faulty circuit breaker and about a man who only found out after death that he had not lived well. František Souček is an electrician who is killed by an electric current during a routine switchboard repair. In spite of everything, he returns home and finds that everyone suspiciously ignores him... After František's death, much has changed: his daughter Iveta is dating the pervert Igor from the neighborhood, his son Vašek has adopted as his surrogate father the judoka Vincent, who has become the lover of his wife Líba... only an encounter with God in heaven can save everything...

The fox is sailing the high seas looking for buried treasure. The crow, eyeing the fox as a sucker, passes his island home off as "Treasure Island", assuring the fox it is loaded with gold (which he proves by showing the fox phoney gold bricks which are really construction bricks painted yellow). However, there is a $2.00 fee for digging on his island which the fox refuses to pay. He tries to extract the "gold" by himself but the crow sabotages his efforts. First, he removes the blade from the fox's pickax.
